Forecast Discussion

Calm conditions will come to end as a cold front will approach from the north throughout the day today sparking some showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Overnight, southerly flow has brought dew points into the upper 60s allowing for plenty of moisture for the storms to tap into. The front to the north, and an old front to the south will converge on our area. This could create a training effect with these afternoon storms. This may lead to some localized flooding. Chances for showers and storms remain for the day on Monday as the front becomes stationary. Rain chances increase from there, and into the middle part of the week, as the remnants of now tropical storm Barry move just to the north of the region. Rainfall amounts are forecasted to be between 1-2 inches by Thursday.
