On the back edge of a low pressure system, surface temperatures have become cold enough to support snow showers through this afternoon. No significant accumulation is expected, although winds will still be gusty, and slick spots could develop on roadways. After this, high pressure returns briefly for the end of the work week as temperatures warm back to around 40 degrees by Friday. Then, another low pressure system makes its way into the area for the weekend, bringing rain showers as highs reach back into the upper 40s.
