Over the next 24 hours, there will be a shortwave trough that moves across the Ohio River Valley. This shortwave trough will be what drives our weather, with some showers and thunderstorms in the evening tonight and throughout the day tomorrow. Most of these storms won’t be severe, but given the amount of moisture in our atmosphere, downbursts and some local wind gusts due to these downbursts cannot be ruled out either. This also means that local flash flooding cannot be ruled out, even though that threat is also relatively low. Going into the rest of the week, fog might be possible in the early morning hours on Wednesday. After this fog lifts, a high pressure will set in for a few days, which will allow for plenty of sunshine. Along with this high pressure will be another ridge, which is currently in the Western US, but that will move eastward over the next several days. This ridge will allow for another heat wave heading into the July 4th weekend.

So looking at the high temperatures over the next several days, it will be in the high 70s tomorrow, mid-upper 80s on Wednesday and Thursday, and in the low 90s on Friday (July 4th) and Saturday. Looking at the low temperatures, it will largely be in the low to mid 60s except for tonight and Saturday night, which will be in the upper 60s and low 70s respectively.
