Forecast Discussion
Due to today’s snowfall, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Athens County. This will be in effect until 10 pm and we can expect light snow accumulations of between 1-2 inches from this quick system. Expect roads to be slick this morning and possibly throughout the day, especially with some roads remaining untreated from Winter Storm Fern last week.
A low pressure system will pass us to the south bringing snow showers to southern Ohio throughout the day today. We will luckily see temperatures just barely above freezing for the first time in over a week with a high of around 33 degrees. We will slip back into the 20s for Wednesday and Thursday before a warm front will come through putting us in the upper 30s on Friday.
This will not last long though as we will quickly cool back into the low 20s on Saturday.
