The cold front that recently passed through the region is expected to stall to the south briefly before moving back north into the Ohio Valley. This front will be associated with a few storm systems that are expected to bring multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms to Southeast Ohio throughout the weekend. Tonight will be the last night of dry conditions for several days, especially since this system is expected to stall over the Ohio Valley. As of Thursday evening, there is a slight risk of excessive rainfall for Friday. This means that there is potential for flooding due to the amount of rain expected to fall in the region. Stay tuned for any updates tomorrow and be prepared for any possible flood advisories or warnings. If you encounter flooded roadways or sidewalks: turn around, don’t drown! Severe weather seems unlikely with any of these storms, however, there could be some gusty winds at times. Temperatures are also expected to warm back up into the 80s by the beginning of next week as this system will not only be bringing plenty of rain, but also warmer air along with it as it moves further north.
