A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Athens County from Saturday morning to Monday morning. A Cold Weather Advisory has also been issued from 8 pm tonight to Saturday morning. Confidence is growing that a strong system will sweep up the East Coast this weekend into Monday, likely bringing a considerable amount of snow to the region. While exact snow totals are still uncertain thus far, we want to emphasize that travel is expected to be hazardous once the bulk of the snow arrives. By Monday, the system is expected to finally push out of the region and into New England. Temperatures are expected to linger around the 20s for the foreseeable future, so any snow accumulation is likely to stick around for a while.
