Forecast Discussion

We are currently under a massive ridge and under a high pressure associated with said ridge. The ridge will continue for the foreseeable future. However, there is potentially good news. While we may not get any precipitation from the jet stream itself, thanks to that ridge, we could potentially get some rain from a potential tropical depression or storm, which is currently forming off the coast of the Carolinas. This system, ironically enough, seems to have garnered some of its energy from the remnants of Francine, in which the core part of that storm basically disintegrated along the Mississippi River Valley (around Arkansas and Tennessee specifically), which was the reason why we didn’t get any precipitation then. Regardless, this new tropical system won’t do all that much in terms of intensifying, but it could potentially provide much needed rain here in SE Ohio as well as in West Virginia. If the models hold true, then it is possible we could see some on and off rain from Tuesday through Thursday. As far as high temperatures are concerned, today will be in the low 90s, Monday will be in the mid 80s, Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the high 70s, and Thursday will be in the low 80s. Here’s to hoping we do get some rain to quell a little bit of the massive drought we have been in!
